Okay so real talk. When I started the Fat Switch method, I was terrified to eat rice. Like, genuinely thought I'd have to give it up forever. All my friends kept saying "rice is basically just sugar" and "carbs will ruin everything." But here's the thing... they were kinda wrong.

Rice gets blamed for everything, but it's not the villain in your weight loss story
The Real Problem With Rice (Spoiler: It's Not Rice)
The issue isn't rice itself. It's what we do with rice. When you're eating a giant bowl of plain rice with nothing else? Yeah, that's gonna spike your blood sugar and leave you hungry in two hours. But that's not how you're supposed to eat it.
The Fat Switch is all about pairing your carbs with fat and protein. That's literally it. Tbh, this changed everything for me.
How I Actually Eat Rice Now
I still have rice like... multiple times a week. The difference is I'm smart about it. I make dishes like Korean Fried Rice (Bokkeumbap) loaded with eggs and veggies, or try Smash Burger Nasi which is basically the dream combo of burger and rice in one bowl.
When you add protein and fat to your rice, your body processes it completely differently. You stay full longer. Your energy stays stable. No crazy cravings at 3pm.

This is what sustainable eating looks like, not sad chicken and broccoli
Portion Size Actually Matters (Who Knew?)
I'm not gonna pretend you can eat five cups of rice and lose weight. But a normal portion? That's totally fine. Trust me, I've lost weight doing this.
Start with a fist-sized portion of rice as your base. Fill the rest of your plate with protein and veggies. Try something like Teriyaki Salmon Bowl where the rice is just part of the meal, not the whole thing.
Why I'm Not Scared Anymore
Honestly? Cutting out entire foods is exhausting and honestly unsustainable. I needed to find a way to eat the stuff I actually enjoy while still hitting my goals. Turns out rice is totally doable when you know the rules.
The Fat Switch showed me it's not about restriction. It's about working with your body instead of against it.

Spoiler alert: you can still enjoy your favorite foods
So yeah, rice isn't bad. Diet culture lied to us. Give one of those recipes a try and see what I mean. Your taste buds (and your results) will thank you. And hey, if you find an amazing rice recipe, tag me. I'm always here for it. 🍚
